Accidentally

Accidentally

By cri

The rain patters down outside.
Drip drop, drip drop.
I flop down on my bed. I am so exhausted.
A huge gust of wind blows in my face.
Oh snap. I have forgotten to close the window. Ugh.
Today just isn't my day.
I'll be alone. For a long time to come.
In the darkness. Waiting. The shadows. Playing.

The truck.
The truck ran over him.
I'm so sorry. I know exactly how you feel. I'm so sorry.
SHUT UP! YOU CANNOT CHANGE ANYTHING!
I don't want to hear "comforting" words anymore.

The door to my cupboard. I open it.
Oh, it's messy. Don't care.
I slip into my pyjamas and try to escape.
Into dreamland. My refuge. Sleep.
But when I can't...

Memories. Flooding through my brain like toxic liquid. The painful memories.
"Wake up! Please wake up!"
"RUN!"
"How could you do this to me?"
"Wait, stop!"
BANG!
"NO!"
Tears refuse to come. I toss and turn in anger. Hatred.
Too emotional.

I stare blankly at the ceiling.
In the darkness. Waiting. The shadows. Playing.
There's a knock on my door. What?
Huh?

It has to be (a/n).
Walk over and open the door for her.
She tries the handle.
It's locked. Shall I,
or shall I not?
Walk over and open the door for her.
Now.

No. I must be asleep.
I stay in the bed.
I'm not tired, though.
Go!
I can't think properly. I just see the horrible image of my friend lying outstretched and bloody, unconscious on the ground.
It's not clear.
I have to sleep.
I close my eyes.
My friend, just there. So much to say that cannot be spoken.
Those hazel eyes. So innocent.
So much to say that cannot be spoken.
From the heart.
The soft brown hair. The gentle heart.

It's stopped.
Forever.
