An Extra Footstep Ch. 1

Amy was just walking home from school, as she did everyday. Nothing unusual. She turned onto Bouldeire Ave and walked pat the cake shop, fudge shop, and the alley. She turned again onto her street, Dare Ave, and opened her gate. As she was walking up the path though, she stopped out of impulse.
There was an extra sound, she was sure of it. She whipped around and saw nothing but her yard and the path leading up to her house. She reluctantly turned and walked up to her door and stepped inside.
