Believer

I believe

humans are slow to learn

even as their world turns

and burns.

I believe

fools wear bejeweled

crowns

and

what has risen

must needs

come down.

I believe

many heroes of Earth

and men

turn out to house

zero worth

within.

I have come to believe

it's in vain

to explain the arcane

to the profane.

I believe

we can only

scratch the surface

for

we latch onto

superficial purpose.

I believe

a treasure of

evolved solutions

lies underneath

layers of

illusion.

I do believe

it's healing

and revealing

to explore
