Breaking Point

By Oxygen

There was once a girl.
She shielded herself from insults, offense, hurtful moments.
She pushed her feelings down,
way down inside of her.
She hid behind her fake smile.
She always said she was fine.
Never shed a tear,
never showed sadness.
But no matter how strong she was,
no matter how deep she pushed those feelings,
she couldn't help but feel them.
No matter how tough she was, she had a breaking point.
That extra drop of water, the one that makes the glass overflow.
To much pain.
Not enough love.
The emotions, the feelings were released.
A whirlwind of emotions, tears sprung,
making her cry,
cry a river,
cry a lake, and ocean.
They wouldn't stop.
Everyone has a breaking point.
