Disguised-Part Two

BookNerd123Black Sheep

(Aster Nile's pov.)

People choose to ignore the things they don't like,to hide the parts about themselves they think other people will not find desireable. We choose what we let people know about us, manipulating the world into believing we are something we aren't. People are good at hiding everything but I still notice some things, things others don't.

I notice how my friends lie all the time; Greg, Georgia, Belle, and Indigo. Greg has everything figured out, his entire future planned down to the exact detail. He acts like he isn't losing it all class after class, night after night studying to get a scholorship. Hiding the dark circles under his eyes with his mothers make-up. Georgia takes every possible class, works two full time jobs and a part time job, while raising her daughter and son. Her twins keeping her up till two in the morning, her lectures starting at six every morning, her three job schedules one after the other, but she never complains. Belle lives with Georgia, paying her rent by babysitting even though she despises children. She was kicked out when she was fifteen when her preacher father found out she was a lesbian, she moved in with sixteen year old Georgia who lived with her grandmother before she died. Belle watches the kids for food and a place to stay, she never talks about her parents. Indigo always wears long sleeves and pants, always a grimace of pain sketched into his beautiful face, shrinking away from anyones touches and looks. His body sickyly pale and thin, his sister always a bud of life. His father an achoholic abuser, he stays to protectict her. He takes the beatings, he takes the blames, he takes it all. We all act like we don't know, so he dosen't run away from us too.

Greg walks over his blond hair sticking to his forhead, blue eyes half- dazed and asleep, and hands covered in ink and colored splotches. Georgia's black hair pulled up into a messy bun, a large coffee in hand, pushing a two child stroller with one hand, her eyes alive by caffiene, and her clothes all wrinkled with baby drool on them. Belle in cut-off black shorts, a pained weak smile upon her face, blond hair now dyed a black blue colour, to big sweatshirt, smoothie in hand, and dark eyes watching the babies protectively. Indigo's long wavy black hair pulled into a ponytail, hoodie sleeves clasped tightly in his fingers, pants lose and too long, he is hunched over a bit trying not to limp, eyes a deep sad blue colour, ivory skin a clammy pale colour, and weak fake grin on his face.

"Hi," Belle says snapping my eyes away from him. I smile,"hey. What are we doing today?" She shrugs as Georgia stops beside her pulling babyboy Avery James MonClair out of the stroller. He cries and she rocks him back and forth on her hip. "Shh, sweet boy." He grins, she smiles down at him. "I am okay now, mommy." She sits him down and he takes her hand in his little one. She one-handedly lifts babygirl Arden Stella MonClair out of the stroller. Sitting her down too, and taking her hand. Arden reaches for Belle,"auntie up." Belle shakes her head,"you walk today."

Greg walks up and wraps his arm around Belle's shoulder. Indigo standing back behind everyone else. He waves at me, I wave back.

"Lets all go get something to eat." Belle suggests as her stomach growls, we all nod. I lean down and Arden wraps her short arms around my neck, her legs around my side as she clings to me like a monkey. Avery streches his arms out for me, I grab him and hold him on my hip.

"They love you." Georgia says, snapping a photo on her dinged up phone. "Uncle A, run." Arden says in my ear, I nod and take off running down the side-walk like a crazy person. I hold on tight to them as the giggle happily in my ears, I spin till they start hiccuping from dizziness, and then stand still trying to regain my balance. I go to fall back till hands catch me. I look to see Indigo holding me up,"be careful." He says before blushing and backing away.

I chuckle, my cheecks slightly flushed, as I try to catch my breath from the unexpected contact.
