Donation- Part Twelve

(Sawyer Fincaid's pov.)

Star is cooking, Kris dancing around and trying to distract, Calix is sitting on the counter gazing down at his phone. "What is wrong?" I ask, wrapping my arms around his waist. He smiles down at me, kissing my head. "Aletris." I pull back, staring up at him, and waiting for further explanation.

"She wants to know when I am coming home. It is sunday already," I nod, kissing his knuckles. "I can bring you home when you are ready." He looks away, nodding. The doorbell rings,"are you expecting someone?" I question Kris, Star, and Calix. They all shake there head as a reply. "I will get it," They nod staying in their places. I open the door and a man frowns down at me, his suit a tailored expensive one. "Are you Sawyer Fincaid?" I nod, just as Calix walks in, and wraps his arms around my waist. Obviously not liking this person. "Yes." He sighs,"there has been an accident."

I feel my body stumble back and Calix catches me, leading me to the couch. The man invites himself in and takes a seat across from us. "I am so sorry to have to tell you that neither one of your parents made it.They crashed late last night and were found this morning by a hiker." I nod, clutching at Calix's hand. "Everything goes to you," the man says. He slides over a thick yellow folder of paper.

"Sign these when you can and give me a call," He lays a bussiness card on top of the folder, showing himself out. "Are you okay?" Calix questions, pulling me onto his lap. "Yes, just surprised." He stares at me and I smile. "They were shitty ass parents; kicked me out when I was sixteen, expected me to follow their rules to please them, and wanted me to leave you. I love you, I could never leave you."

His eyes go wide,"you love me?" I nod,"you don't have to say it back. It doesn't matter," He smiles. "I love you,too." He nods and kisses my cheeck. "Let me get you something to eat and figure everything out." I smile," believe me I am fine." He nods but it is hesitant.
