Emilie

By Jozay

When you have someone who is dear to you,

Miles away and nowhere near you,

Taken away so quickly when you didn’t get to say goodbye,

You die a little inside and all you want to do is cry,

Unable to shed a tear you become frustrated,

Now she is really gone and you feel isolated,

From your own emotions you become jaded,

Numb from what has happened can’t seem to understand,

Must leave the past behind and face what is at hand,

She is finally at peace in heaven,

No more suffering she must bear,

The love that she once shared,

Forever a memory of those who cared,

The pain of lost subsides so slowly,

A wound that may never heal,

Mourn the loss of the ones you love,

But stay true to what is real.
