Appalled by sight
what my eyes do see.
A figure in the shadow
taunting me.
 

Cold.

Skin that tightens
for blood to freeze nerves.
Walking towards me
sinister smile.
 

Angst.

Want to get away,
but is hard to turn.
Step by step
It's reaching out.
 

Dark.

Blind myself what I saw
now can’t be in the real world.
Hear laughter
in my ear.
 

Deceit.

A fake nature I ensure
that tricks the mind into belief.
Silence it becomes.
 

Truth.

The light that filters
through eyelashes to reveal

nothing.
