Fallen Angel

Like an angel,

I fell from the sky,

My wings broken

And ripped to shreds.

I hit the ground hard,

The world shaking.

Only once the dust settled,

I opened my eyes.

I saw the madness

behind the beauty,

The pain behind the mask.

I saw the real world,

How it was build on lies

And as a tear slipped out,

Our worlds collided,

The ground trembling in our wake.

Only a grudge separating us.

I saw the flames and the fire,

I saw you light the fuse,

And I saw the world explode,

Tendrils of smoke carry me away

I found myself on the ground,

chained to my own fears.

I grew too attached and I payed the price.

And now I’m left alone,

Known as the fallen angel.
