Grace (Song)

By Anthony E

I had dinner at the place

Her name tag said she's Grace

Sat in a corner booth

A bit shy, that's the truth

So I drank a beer or four

With my friends I ignored

Points to mustard on my face

Her name tag said she's Grace

Grace, Grace, Grace,

Grace, Grace, Grace,

Grace, Grace, Grace, on my mind

Sooo I went back the next day

Compliments left to pay

Grace was not around

Her name tag all I found

She met a trucker and quit

Packed her things, got a lift

Left an apron and a rag

Left her smile and name tag

Grace, Grace, Grace

Grace, Grace, Grace

Grace, Grace, Grace, on my mind

Waitress smiled--- said, "What's up?"

As she filled my coffee cup

At the end, of my rope

Her name tag, said she's Hope

Won't lose her to a trucker

Or some highway drifter

I said Hope, how do you do

I got the check and got Hope too

Hope, Hope, Hope

Hope, Hope, Hope

Hope, Hope, Hope, on my mind...
