Haiku - Selection 10

By Andy (Formerly Apemann)

Like
He likes her a lot
But being a young boy means
He dare not tell her

Daydream
She daydreams of him
Hoping that he's noticed her
And will ask her out

Shoes
Her new pair of shoes
Are worn just once before they
Join the collection

Age
He laughs at himself
In photos that were taken
Many years ago

He looks so young that
It's hard to believe that he
Was that youthful once.

The passing years sit
Heavily on his shoulders
Like his memories.

Alone now he waits
To rejoin his deceased wife
In eternity.

Play
Rain stops play except
For young kids in Wellingtons
Who splash in puddles
