Happiness Comes With a Price

By Oxygen

I am happy,

laughing with my best friends,

I stare off into the distance thinking :

"Man, this is going to be a good year."

Christmas rolls around the corner.

I spend time with my loved ones,

not close to my friends.

I come back expecting great happiness,

but only meet sadness and loneliness.

I am no longer laughing with my friends,

I am now watching them laugh.

I sit here staring at everyone around me,

they are happy.

Will they every

experience my pain?

Happiness comes with a price.

When will my great sadness end?

When will it measure up to my great happy moments?

When?

I sit here waiting for the world to be normal again,

happy again.

I guess I will be waiting for a long time.

Author Notes: To experience great happiness you must pay the price of experiencing great sadness.
Hope you guys enjoyed this poem even though it is sad.
