‘why have you been so happy lately’
is something everyone asks, yet i have only one answer
him.
he treats me like a person
my heart although broken into a thousand pieces feels whole when i’m with him
i no longer feel lonely in crowded rooms
no longer shy back from what i really want to say
i no longer hide my smile when i laugh
he loves my eyes
he loves my smile
but mostly
he just loves me
although i have a hard time expressing emotion
i do love him
i can’t always say it
i can’t always show it
but he is the reason for my happiness
that’s why i’ve been so happy lately
him.
