Hope

I felt the wind on my face. The bright lights shone in the distance. Everything felt so fake. The wind, the lights. When i looked over the edge i saw everything. Everything was coming towards me. It felt like a dream. One that I would never be able to get out of. I felt my hand grasp the railing. I felt the coolness of the metal. God, was i really here, was i even me? It felt like yesterday that i was in bed, alone, trying to sleep. Now i was here. Suddenly, everything zoomed back in. The way people where hustling around and trying to take pictures. Suddenly, a howl of wind came knocking everyone away. No one knew but, at the same time it felt like everyone did. Out of the corner of my eye i saw a woman. She stood out of the crowd. I saw the way she shivered in her coat which was two sizes too big. How her feet shuffled on the pavement because her shoes were barely holding on. I walked toward her not knowing what i was about to do. She smiled ar me and i saw she had only two teeth. I reached into my pocket, searching. When i felt the metal clip i took it out and gave it to her. At first she was smiling than she looked shocked. I stuffed it into her pocket before she could talk. I walked back tot he rail. I looked around, took a breath and jumped. No one noticed or said anything but, as i looked up i saw that woman, smiling.
