I Am (Not) Ugly

I’m ugly.

I’ll never believe that

I’m beautiful.

I know that

Thoughts will not change.

I cannot believe that

Things will get better.

I know

I’m unpleasant to the eye.

It’s not true that

Beauty is only skin deep.

While knowing

That I have no value,

I can’t say

I like what I see

While looking in the mirror.
