I Would Wake Up

By Mitzi Danielson-Kaslik

I should like to write my life away,

And live upon my pages,

As my pen glides across,

The paper, leaving delicate letters,

In its wake

I should like to dance my life away,

And live upon my step,

As my foot glides across,

The stage, leaving a performance,

In its wake

I should like to paint my life away,

And live upon my canvas,

As my brush glides across,

The parchment, leaving beautiful patterns,

In its wake

I should like to dream my life away,

And live within my mind,

As I walk across,

My thoughts, leaving ideas,

In my wake

But for you, My Love, I would wake up.
