Isn’t it funny?

When I meet

Someone new

One of the

first questions

I ask is “what

Do you want

To be when

You’re older?”?

And they look

At me in a

Funny way

And tell me:

“I’m a teacher”

Or

‘I’m a lawyer”

Or something

Else.

And I remember

That the promise

Of tomorrow

Has been granted

It’s called today.

I am older

I know what I

Want to be

I just don’t

Know if it

Is me.
