Kingdom on a Hill

By Annabeth Chase

High on the hill you sat

Looking down upon those passing by

How mighty you felt

In your kingdom on the hill

You felt no pity

And gave no mercy

As you cast stones over the wall

Because you knew you were safe

As long as you were in your castle on the hill

But your foundation wasn't strong

And the stones began to crumble

Your kingdom broke at the base

Shattered on the rocks

Now your down with the rest of the world

You don't have your castle walls to protect you

And you have no one to call a friend

All because of the kingdom you built on top of a hill
