Mind foggy, lost in the smoke.
wanting, wishing, longing for something.

Love, acceptance, belonging. He wanted it with her.

She was what he wanted. He knew from the start.
she was his match. But did she want him?

This troubled him. All he wanted was her

Her laugh

Her hand in his

He never knew, anything.
he craved her, she loved him.

But they were young, he was cynical, he was damaged.
Would she really have him as hers

Doubt was the enemy, his weakness.

Wish to understand, can’t.
