Monster

        Today I have learned
        Something about myself
        And it makes me yearn
        To run

        They ask, " Where is the girl we used to know?"
        I'd say," Right here!"
        But they'd just say no

        I understand I have changed
        But have I changed so much
        that I am not the same?

        I grow so bored
        of playing this game
        that I
        want to just run away

        I want to run to where people accept me
        Far away I will run
        Until they no longer exist
        Where they can no longer hurt me

        But I have learned something 
        about myself today
        that I am a monster
        and I can never get away
