My Dearest Friend,

By Annabeth Chase

My dearest friend,

How are you

When was the last time I saw your smile

Maybe four

Its been so long

We used to be so close

But our lives made us drift apart

As I watched the sun rise the other day

I thought of the time we spent playing when we were young

When we would pretend to be horses galloping through a field

Or dolphins swimming in the great blue sea

Before we had careers

Before money was more important than imagination

Before we grew up

I hope you know that forever I will consider you

One of my most beloved friends

The memories we share will never die

I hope one day I can see you again

In love,

Your Best Friend
