My Snow Angel

By Anthony E

Grandma was old and didn't move too well

Shaking and aching was how I could tell

One thing on her bucket list

To see a snowfall in her midst

Yet 80' and warm was all we got

And in the summer it was hot, hot, hot

At Christmas, the skies drew near

White dreams from heaven came down on her

The snow, it came on each hour

We sat by the window near the fire

Then I heard Grandma with her gloves

"Let us go outside and play my love"

We caught flakes on our tongue

Watched the slush squish and run

Her cheeks turned corvette red

We lied down on a snowy bed

Made snow angels on the lawn

We were out there until dawn

And when the snow melted off the stone

The snow angels took Grandma home...
