Sense of Duty

I see the flag flying so high
And am filled with a sense of pride
A sense of duty that I cannot deny
It has always been present
And filling my thoughts
I used to try to push it away
But I now know that it’s not just a phase
Something that will pass with time
I know that it is what I am meant to do
So I can no longer deny
The sense of duty that reflects all that I do
And Every step and decision I make
Though it scares me to know
The high price that it can hold
I know that the reward will outweigh the sacrifice
So I will always fight alongside the brave men and women
And leave no man behind
Because that is what I am meant to do!
