Shame

By -- The Huntress --

"Shame.

A princess reduced to ashes, they say,

Stripped from all her glory and fame,

And to the grave cathedral’s bells, she fades away.

"Shame.

A perfect fallen angel, they seemed to say,

She was innocent and pure as a gentle flame,

But it’s all too late, for she has gone out to play.

"Shame.

A misunderstood one, they refused to say,

Until she was forced to bow and take the blame,

Only then did they realize she was wrongly castaway.

"Shame.

A rose dripping blood, they didn’t know to say,

Bloody and bruised, a part of their twisted game,

On that fateful day, she was put on display.

"Shame they know not.

Shame they care not.

Shame...

Shame...

Shame...
