I used to think life was simple,
That dreams could come true,
But it was all a lie,
Sometimes we can't be
what we wish,
Some are given what they want
With a silver spoon on their dish,
Most of us
Get their leftovers,
The janitor
The trash man,
They had dreams,
They wished on four leafed clovers,
But sometimes you don't get
what you want,
And there they are
Silver spoons in hand,
There they taunt,
With their dreams in clutch,
And the rest of us
We reach
So close
Almost,
But we can't touch,
If only it was as we thought
When we were kids,
Where everyone could be an astronaut,
But we can't
And there they are
With the dream they bought,
That silver spoon,
Life isn't fair,
How could our parents lets us think that?
Now as adults it's far too much to bare,
Because life doesn't give you lemons
It doesn't give you anything,
Unless you have the silver spoon,
The wonderous privellage of wealth,
And the rest of us are stuck at the bottom,
Reaching
But never touching,
I wish I knew life wasn't simple,
I wish they would have told me the truth,
Because finding out is like sucking on a sore tooth
Painful
