A Single Window

By Mitzi Danielson-Kaslik

I suppose it helps me

at least, to look out of

that single window.

The sun streams in

through it in summer

and the first snow

flake falls on it

in winter.

Life is so much

more sucessfully

viewed from its

lofty heights up

between the sea

and the sky,

like some great

glass cliff

overlooking the

world below.

In the world

below life so

much more

decidedly

blurred;

from up

here, the

world is all

as it appears;

in my limited

perception

from this

single

window

I see everything,

or everything

which is

helpful to see.

Author Notes: Why hasn't this site got a 'metaphysical' option in their genres? LOL
