Stars

By Amber Jones

The heart burns,

like the center of a star.

Aching to be let loose,

Every beat it rips farther from reality,

As you refuse to let it loose.

Does it burn to let it go?

Yes.

But only with the fire of passion.

Does it freeze to let it go?

Yes.

But only with the whispering chills of secrets.

Does the heart ever stop beating with the untold?

No!

So why cage it?

Why bend it to your very will?

Because the fear of collapsing follows,

Do not let that stop you.

Let loose the heart,

And let the untold be told.
