Terrified

I feel so empty

Half a girl

A cave has opened

In my world

Drilled too deep

Too far down

The hole is there

And I have found

I'm terrified of what I might find down there

The monsters

I've hidden

I'm guessing they won't treat me well If or when

I visit

Them

Down there.

The way his eyes shined

Caught my heart

I couldn't imagine

Us apart

The fear I felt

Escaped my soul

And quickly started

Digging a hole

I tried to catch it

Hold it tight

Confront my demons

Win the fight

But for all my effort

It escaped

And as I watched

It deeper snaked.

I'm terrified of what I might find down there

The feelings

I've burried

But if I ever want to be whole again

The journey

Must

Be made.
