THE CANDY GARDEN

herculeshercules

Once upon a time, there was a little girl, called Lucy.

Lucy was a happy child. She liked going out and about in the country on little adventures.

One day she entered a very bizarre garden. Bizarre was the right word.

There were no flowers, or any other familiar garden features to be seen.

Instead, there were cakes, sweets, chocolates and many other tasty-looking sweet things.

Lucy was overwhelmed with joy.

As she walked round the garden, she saw thousands of boiled sweets scattered about, candyfloss and lollypops sticking up out of the grass, chocolate ornaments, cakes hanging by strings from bushes and trees, like Christmas decorations and much more.

Dotted about, were pools and fountains of chocolate, honey and ice cream.

Even the paths were made of marble-coloured rock.

It truly was a heavenly sight.

Lucy couldn’t resist having some of the candy treasure.

At one point, she came to a clearing.

Within the clearing, there was a fountain of multi-coloured ice cream.

Sitting on the fountain edge, was a two-hundred-year-old witch, eating a white chocolate muffin.

Lucy walked up to the witch, who was kind looking and introduced herself.

The witch spoke kindly in return.

She told Lucy that she had created the garden for little children, like herself.

She then told Lucy, that she would not be able to return to the garden a second time and that she would forget all about it.

Finally, she told her that the garden became invisible when no children were nearby.

So that’s how things were for Lucy.

When she left the garden, it vanished and she forgot it ever existed.
