The Forging of a Writer

By Mitzi Danielson-Kaslik

Each time I involve myself with you,

I seem to become a little better,

At what I do,

First involvement,

I became a writer,

Second involvement,

I became a poet,

I was once told writers are born,

Not made,

But since all this,

I believe that a writer is foraged,

Of a broken heart,

Thank you for breaking mine,

Now it has found it true love.
