The Glue
By Anthony E
Unwrap and uncap something brand new
White drops stop on the the bottle of glue
All held together, stuck in one place
Brought together by a sticky white paste
You are the bold plaster that tightly secures
You are the unconditional love that endures
You are the glue!
People may come, others may go
Your steadfastness is all we know
You are counted on and depended in
You are where our day begins and ends
You are the glue!
You are empathetic and diplomatic
Enthusiastic, sympathetic, and authentic
You share an inexhaustible love
One we can all take part of
You are the glue!
When tragedy befalls
You answer life's calls
You wrap our fears in a blanket so warm
Confiding, not hiding, from life's strident storm
We are held together, embraced by you
Dear-Kindhearted Mom, You are our Glue!
Author Notes: A poem about a mother's love.
