I came across this story while looking into this case as I live in Bradford UK where this murder in 1888 took place. The police museum in Bradford City Hall is where the actual court still is where William Barrett, (this accused) stood. Clearly this young lady had done her research in to the main parts of this case and I should know, read on! Bradfordpolicemuseum.com are presently running enactments of this case having put what evidence is available back together. Volunteers at the museum play the parts of Judge and the two barristers, of which I am council for the prosecution. We present the facts of this actual case and the audience of 24 people ( 2 juries ), decide on guilty or not. Kat, I think it is great that you have taken an interest in this, researched it so well and have written so well about it. I have a daughter who is also a writer and we have published a children's book together too called Bluetooth And The Word Wide Web. I wish you all the very best with your writing and if you ever visit the UK and can make it to the museum please get in touch and I would be very happy to show you the courtroom. Kind regards, David Hardcastle my website is at www.themobilepolicemuseum.com
