The spirit of sorrow
By evhlgr
The spirit of sorrow
he does not sleep
he does not dream
she looks flat
the sun on
hazy gray
sea
and sinks
in a perennial
vigil
punishment
conviction.
In the iris of each
dawn
beyond silver
moon
there
flicker
her eyelids
broken by
light
of her blind
destiny.
Author Notes: These poems are usually written as a way for someone to express pain or resentment through writing. Such Gothic poetry can continue to use supernatural and frightening concepts, although additional reasons for morbidity and despair are very common.
