The Voices

By farahmirzad

Long nights, silent cries, By herself, all alone.
Not even bothering to check her phone.
She tries, she tries.
Just close your eyes.
But she can't, she cant.
It's the voices.

The voices, the voices.
They're not giving her many choices.
They're getting too loud.
So cruel, so mean. they keep putting her down,
Making it harder to hide that frown.

They tell her, they tell her.
The voices, they tell her,
"cut, cut, where no one can see.
No, not there, idiot, you never wear sleeves."
