The Wailing Whale
By Anthony E
The little whale started to wail
She swam too close to the beach
Had paddled out, was saddled about
With the sea just out of reach
.
She cried and wailed, the little beached whale
Her fate wasn't great, she was doomed
People started coming, some swimming, some running
Yet danger certainly loomed
.
The whale gasped for breath, close to near death
Her blowhole was completely blocked
Then out swam a boy, with a smile of pure joy
Beneath the excitement and the shock
.
He extended his arm, didn’t mean her no harm
Though to her he was a stranger
Removing a small fish, with a snag and a swish
Yet the young whale was in grave danger
.
Stuck on a sandbar, she hadn’t gone far,
Needing water to live
Out they came, running the same
With a bucket of water to give
.
People splashed and splished, a life saving wish
To keep the young whale alive
they pushed and shoved with gracious pure love
To help the wailing whale survive
.
The young whale broke free, she got out to the sea
And was overjoyed once more
She looked back to the banks, wailing a loud thanks
To the brave boy back on the shore.
.
The End....
