The Water Below

By Mitzi Danielson-Kaslik

As my eyes begin to close,

My body sways,

With the soft movement,

Of the water below,

My head rocks,

And my body follows,

As the wind,

Blows the water below,

It doesn’t take long,

The soft trickling sound,

Consumes my thoughts,

As if I’m sinking,

Wilfully and happily,

Into the water below.
