The Witching Hour

By KeithLankford

The Witches appeared
As sun fell from sky
Curious onlookers
Gathered
Nearby

The Judges and Juries
A mass to soon pass
Eased fears and worries
A sentence
To last

The stakes were high
The price was their lives
Their crimes the unknown
Their time
To die

Chained in their fear
Bound by desire
Their end was near
Subcomming
To fire

The flames they did dance
Crackle and sway
The witches departed
Their work
Done for the day
