This Town

By TheForgotten

This town,

Full of the dreams

We've all let down,

Peeling walls,

And long lonely halls,

Those who line

the hall of fame,

Long forgotten,

Every day

the same,

They whisper

in their houses,

Away from sight,

This way

they have no fright,

But we all hear,

Not from their mouths,

News travels

the wind to our ear,

And it is all hidden,

By a drape of ignorance,

For truly knowing

Is forbidden,

See this town

Lures its victims,

With the false hope,

From there

It is a steep slope,

We are stuck,

And here we are,

Without a lick of luck

With it

The corruption

Growing out of the cracks

Of a crumbling city

Like a weed,

But soon,

Soon,

I am to be freed
