TREASURE MOUNTAIN

By hercules

Once upon a time, there was a treasure hunter, called Alexander.

Alexander travelled far and wide across the land, in search of great riches to give to King Paris.

He never found any.

King Paris, who was greedy and ruthless, was most disappointed when Alexander returned to him empty handed.

Always!

Alexander on the other hand, was very pleased.

He didn’t like it when Paris sent him off, time after time to find treasure.

Unlike the king, he had no interest in Earthly riches.

He was only concerned about the poor and unfortunate people of the land.

One day, the king told Alexander to go to a mountain, which was said to have treasure on top.

Reluctantly, Alexander set out in search of the mountain, which the king spoke of. Found it he did too.

The mountain was high and rocky with no snow on its slopes.

A path ran up and around it to the summit, where something gold was shining.

Alexander began to make his way up the path, which was rough and steep.

It made the ascent very tiring and hard, but with great determination, Alexander reached the top of the mountain.

On the summit, there was a green dragon guarding a large, open chest, full of treasure.

The chest contained medallions, rings, chalices, gems, necklaces, bracelets, amulets, coins and headpieces.

The dragon spoke to Alexander.

It told him that only one who was worthy of the treasure, could take it. One who wished not to possess it, but to give it to the unfortunate.

That, was all Alexander wanted and he told the dragon so.

Fortunately, the dragon believed him, for it was very wise and could see right into one’s heart.

Therefore, Alexander was allowed to take the treasure.

He did so and gave it to the unfortunate of the land.

Though he never returned to the king.
