TREASURE OF THE HEART
By hercules
Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there lived a great king, called Perseus.
Perseus ruled wisely and peacefully with his wife, Queen Andromeda.
Perseus and Andromeda had a daughter and heiress, called Atalanta.
Princess Atalanta was expected to marry, in order to keep the royal lineage going.
Happy she was to marry too, but there was one condition.
She wanted to choose her own suitor – a worthy suitor, to rule at her side when she became queen.
Neither Perseus, nor Andromeda objected.
The king made it known, far and wide in the land, that the princess was to be married, but only to a suitor worthy of her.
So that’s how it was.
One suitor after another came to the palace to ask for Atalanta’s hand.
None succeeded.
The princess had no interest in mighty heroes, or bearers of any kind of riches.
She refused those who wanted to marry her, only to look upon her beauty.
All Atalanta wanted, was a suitor who admired one’s inner beauty as well as their outer and who had no interest in Earthly riches.
Fortunately, one such suitor presented himself.
His name, was Helios.
Helios was no hero and he possessed nothing, but himself.
He admired Atalanta’s inner beauty and told her, that real treasure is within.
In the heart!
Atalanta chose Helios at once, to be her future husband.
So they got married and lived happily ever after.
