That look in your eyes,

i fell for and trusted,

you said you'd be kind,

but that's not what love is;

i thought you would hold me,

to ensure my safety,

but you just wanted my body,

and i gave you the key;

so here i am,

a new look, a new person,

should i follow my heart,

or decide not to listen;

i just want to trust,

avoid all the pain,

if i take this chance,

what will i gain;

a heart to love,

someone to love me,

a person to know,

with infinite possibilities;

i can believe in his promises,

or give into my doubts,

but if i give up now,

i'll never find out;

the sweetness of love,

a perfectly spoken word,

the joy of a hug,

an "i love you" i never heard;

so i'll take my chance,
