Twinkle of My Eyes
By Amber Jones
The starlight fell on my
Cold ivory stained cheeks
Streaking them with a kiss
And sinking way down deep.
The only time you’ll see
The expansion of my soul
Is in the twinkle of my eyes
When I share what I hold.
Consider the gaping
Secrets that run in my veins
Before tossing me aside
Like some disgusting remains.
Consider the bright light
I shine into the gaps,
But also remember
Stars shine brightest when they’re
About to collapse.
