Unbreakable Law-Part Fifteen

(Oak's pov.)

Lemon and Nightshade lean over my desk, I stand behind them my back pressed against the wall. A soft knock echos through the wood of my door and against the walls of my room. One knock, one tap, one kick, and two knocks. I open the door recognizing the code. Pine smiles at me but it fades slowly.

"Lemon, I need to talk to you alone." His voice isn't cold but stern and demanding, the voice of a future king. He keeps his eyes locked on her. "What do you want?" She questions, arms crossed over her chest. He holds up a thin folded peice of paper, she nods, and follows him out into the hall, closing the door behind her.

"What is this?" His voice hisses in an agry sound. "You know excatly what it is. He has a right to know." Pine laughs coldly. "This is all for him. I am protecting him." I press my ear closer to the door, eager to hear more. "Did he ask you to protect him? Did he?" Her voice raises slightly, her anger growing. "No but I have to." She chuckles,"did it ever occur to you that he can take care of himself? That he should have a choice in the matter also?" She guiets down, breath coming out in a huff.

"I know what he would choose and I cannot let him throw it all away for me." His voice is final ending the conversation. A ripping sound echoes through the door and I pull back just as the door is swung open. Lemon eyes me suspiciously but moves aside so that Pine can step in. "what was that about?" I whisper to Lemon, her only response is a shake of the head and a glare towards Pine. Pine doesn't seem to have noticed her icy stare and instead takes a seat at the edge of my bed.

His entire body rigid and cold looking. His eyes focused down on the torn paper clutched in his hand, he jumps up suddenly, and throws the paper inot the trash.

He leaves without a word or a glance the only goodbye the sharp snap of my door closing behind him.
