War and peace

By ask_again

I can hardly see, for smoke blinds me, like an over towering stiff solid wall.

As rats go scampering by, I watch in pain, misery and agony.

Dead bodies lay scattered on the ground, like worthless piles of rubbish.

The sickening smell of blood, rushing down the road as if asking for help.

Then bombs open up and flames light the sky, gunfire hurts my eardrum.

Piercing and killing lives, war is worthless.

My eyes felt flooded, like a shower of tears.

Forcing their way out, like a criminal escaping his cell.

CRASH goes another bomb, as I run in hope.

I can hear the polices siren behind me, calling me to my death.

I remember my mother’s last words, before she left me to suffer by myself.

‘Son, a winner is just a loser, who tried one more time! Don’t give up!

As I run searching for shelter, I grip my stomach, tight.

For the pain is excruciating, it’s mentally killing me.

Hiding in the shadows, with loud noises constraining their way through.

Tears rush down my checks, they felt unwanted, fresh and hot.

As the shadows whispered and gave me stares, I sat alone in the dark.

For the land which I once called home, had eventually turned into a war zone.

Once again on the run to escape, my loved contrary looked like hell.

Like a dangerous, deadly, devastating, deranged, demon, had viciously taken over! War is worthless.

When smoke started fading, Clouds come out of hiding.

People show their faces, while slouching, silently, slowly, secretly, stubbornly.

The truth was unbelievable, Yet welcoming.

Smiles struck on people’s faces, while others laughed and jumped.

It was like a flower, waiting to bloom.

Yet being destroyed, it still blossoms.

The happiness was brighter than a thousand fireflies, Families finding loved ones going hectic. Piles of ashes aligned on the side, like soldiers standing guard.

Dead bodies dragged away, Houses being rebuilt.

But me, a criminal still craving food, as I sit alone in the shadows.

The moon sat high in the sky, the stars were winking at me.

Tears of joy rolled down my checks, as I watched my world blossom brighter.

THE END!!
