Where the Wildflowers End
By JPYoung
Two walk on the seaside trail,
Saunter slowly ‘round the bend,
The woman purrs to her male,
‘Here’s where the wildflowers end…’
*
White waves crash upon tan sand,
The sea is blue, they are too.
‘Good bye, our enchanted land,
Soon our holiday is through.’
*
High green hills lie to their west,
Coastal gulls patrol their east
Their love and laughs at their best
But their time together ceased.
*
One day the two will come back.
Returning to the far shore,
Joy at the end of the track.
Timeless together once more…
*
The lovers will return when…
They have future time to spend.
Their love will soon come again
To where the wildflowers end…
