White Rose
By Theo
White rose
White rose
Your beauty comes and goes
No one knows
No one sees
Your hidden thorns.
White rose
white rose
So hidden yet so seen
Your metallic thorns gleam
You were once a White rose,
White rose
till your petals painted red
By a girl trying to hide her own dread
Now a Red rose.
petals start to shrivel
thorns are worn
Oh, Red rose
Red rose
Deeper hurt
Deeper red
Still the keeper of her dread
Yet, There’s not much more to give.
Are your thorns your protection or her demise
I can see it in her eyes
That your thorns are the killer
Or is she
Or is it everything else?
Red rose
Red rose
Held in her hands a final time
So red, petals turn to black
Petals fall
Petals falling
Once a white rose
Petals gone
