Why do these voices...

Why do these voices

keep getting in my way,

they continue to babble in my mind

even though they have nothing to say,

why do these voices

continue to talk,

late into the night

way past 12 o’clock,

why do they turn my mind to shreds

destroying my confidence past it’s limit,

keep me in the dark for days

with my hope no longer in it,

why do these people kick me while I’m down

cut my throat and steal my crown.
