A Wonderful Deed

The young can learn to love
And can also learn to regret
Their butterfly wings
Caught in a spider's net
.
Impressionable bear cubs
Waking from a winter's nap
Their hopes and dreams
Caught in an razor sharp trap
,
The young trout moves freely
Sees a worm he hasn't met
No one there to guide him
Captured in a fisherman's net
.
The butterfly was born to fly
No different from you or I
But without guidance and discipline
The trout won't live to swim
Without leadership and direction
The young bear will lack protection
Without love, the butterfly won't get far
And will flutter at the bottom of a mason jar
.
Shine your love into the hidden depths
Reach out to someone in need
Guide and love the overlooked
So shines a Wonderful Deed
.
