You Aren't a Good Child
You aren't a good child if you can't wake up at 3 in the morning just to study,
you aren't a good child if you're not the top student at school,
you aren't a good child if you give up a couple of hours to watch your favorite tv series,
you aren't a good child if you follow your 'impossible' dreams,
you aren't a good child if you don't become an engineer a lawyer or a doctor,
so, you do your best to achieve these expectations,
you shape yourself to whats expected,
for what, approval?
you study hard,
forget about your dreams,
become a doctor a lawyer or engineer,
now you're tired and done,
because this isn't what you wanted,
but I mean, at least you're a good child.
Author Notes: Parent pressure is hard on us teens. I too try to do what I can to make my parents proud, simply to have some sort of approval or acceptance, and it's stressful. I'm not saying to go totally against parents or anything, they just want the best for us, but I think we shouldn't have to follow everything they say or expect us to do... I mean, if you're really into something (not just career wise) and it drives you, you shouldn't have to give it up to be forced into something you don't truely want, should you?
