As someone who lies, I almost always assume others lie, no matter who it is, I hardly ever feel inclined to believe people. Why would I?
As someone who lies, I know how easy it is to make people believe you're telling a true tale. I know that with a shrug and a touch of carelessness, everyone suddenly thinks it really happened.
As someone who lies, I know how easy it is to wipe away your tears and simply say you were rubbing your eyes too hard, or merely crying over a story.
As someone who lies, I know how the thought of hurting someone with the truth is nearly painful, and I know how easy it is to slip in half-truths to lighten anothers heart.
As someone who lies, I know how desperate one can be to fit in.
As someone who lies, I know how to smile and add some dramatic flair to make it seem like I'm simply being silly, thus disguising what I truly think or feel.
As someone who lies, I know how lonely it can be, and how misunderstood you feel.
As someone who lies, I know how hard it is to be honest when it matters.
And so, as someone who lies, how can I believe others, when I know what it is to lie?
